Google releases first-ever I/O 2016 app for attendees using iOS

Following the launch of Gboard yesterday, Google has released a version of the I/O 2016 conference app for iOS. With the dedicated app, attendees who use iPhone won’t have to rely on I/O’s mobile site.

Much like the Android app, those on iOS will be able to browse the conference agenda in detail and sort by themes, tracks, and speakers. It features a useful map of the Shoreline Amphitheater that lists the various stages, demo zones, and code labs, as well as where you’re currently located in the big venue.

After logging into with a Google account, you can create a personalized schedule that is synced between the mobile app and the web. The app will send out notifications to remind you before a scheduled event starts, and will also show specific messages that are relevant for those on site.

For those who aren’t attending, the app can also be used to watch the main keynote on Wednesday morning at 10 AM and the few sessions that will be livestreamed. Design-wise, the app retains the same Material Design found on Android and the web. The app is brightly colored with bright blue headers and status bar with a liberal use of FABs.

We’ll be on the ground keeping you updated on all the latest I/O news, but you can download the app right now from the iTunes App Store.
