Google Pixel 2 & 2 XL: How to customize the Active Edge

With the launch of the Pixel 2 and 2 XL, Google borrowed a feature from HTC allows users to trigger a specific action by squeezing the edges of the handset. While the feature on HTC handsets can be customized to launch different apps and actions, the Pixel 2’s Active Edge can only launch the Google Assistant and silence some notifications. Here’s how to customize the feature…

How to customize the Pixel 2’s Active Edge |

  1. Go to the Pixel 2’s Settings menu
  2. Scroll down to the bottom of the list and tap on System
  3. Select Gestures
  4. Tap on Active Edge
  5. Here you can adjust the squeeze sensitivity, enable or disable the feature to launch the Google Assistant, let Active Edge work when the screen is off, and have the feature silence the Pixel 2 when receiving a phone call or an alarm is going off
