Angry Birds GO! comes racing onto Android with Mario Kart-like action game

In a refreshing departure from its iconic flick-and-throw style animated gameplay, Rovio is out with a brand new Mario Kart-like game depicting the ongoing battle between the winged warriors and pesky pigs with Angry Birds GO!

Angry Birds GO! delivers ‘breakneck speed’ downhill racing on Piggy Island in the first three-dimensional version of the series …

The downhill race starts out with Crash Bandicoot-style jalopies strapped to the front of a giant sling shoot from which they’re simultaneously lunged. As racing games you, you steer your device to control your driver.

Drivers include the usual suspects from the franchise including the iconic “Red” and an option to put King Pig and Mustache Pig behind the wheel. Each player you choose comes equipped with a unique special powers used to win the beat your opponents.

As you progress you can upgrade your vehicle with credit you earn (or in-app purchases if that’s your thing).

The game features a variety of race courses like off-road tracks and even air courses. Different game modes include Race, Time Boom, Fruit Splat, Champion Chase and Mega Match.
