Google has announced the winners of the 2013 Players’ Choice awards for top Google Play apps and games. The awards are given based on user popularity, unlike the apps featured last week in the Play Store for a similar award,  which were chosen by Google themselves. There were six categories spanning apps and games. The winners of each respective category are listed below, as chosen by the Android community.

I Can’t Quit You — Most Addictive Game: Knights and Dragons, by Gree.

Old School, Still Cool — Best Franchise Game: Bejeweled Blitz, by Electronic Arts.

Lights, Camera, Games — Best Game Based on a Movie: The Hobbit: Kingdoms, by Kabam.

Quitely Brilliant — Best App for Enhancing the Everyday: Duolingo: Learn Languages Free.

At Your Service — Best App for Booking and Flying: Flixter.

I <3 Google — Best Google App: YouTube.

A few write-ins also got special mentions:

Write-In Game – Ingress

Write-In Game – Samurai Siege

Write-In App – NewsHog: Google News & Weather

Write-In App – SwiftKey Keyboard

This is the first year Google has run a Players Choice award — congratulations to all the winners.
