Last month, HTC acknowledged a bug that blocked its Advantage customers from redeeming 50GB of Google Drive storage space. The Taiwanese manufacturer advised that it was working on a fix for the matter and said that it expected a patch to be ready a few weeks later. Today, the company announced that AT&T had approved an update for the HTC One M8 and that users could download the update and claim their cloud storage.
We can confirm that the fix is now live, as we’ve already downloaded it. The update to version 1.58.502.1 should resolve the issue, however if the offer for 50GB of storage doesn’t appear, HTC recommends clearing Google Drive’s temporary data within your phone’s settings. To do this, tap Settings, Apps and swipe left until your apps are displayed. Select Drive from the list and tap Clear data. You should be good to go after that.
