HTC is mostly known for its high-end devices that are built with premium materials, however the Taiwanese electronics manufacturer is starting to make a splash in the mid-range smartphone space. Today, the company announced the launch of the Desire 510, a new budget-friendly LTE-capable phone that’s coming to Sprint, Cricket, Virgin and Boost Mobile in the coming months.

While it may not have the raw performance power of the HTC One M8, the Desire 510’s specs are more than sufficient for casual smartphone users. HTC’s new mid-range slugger features a 4.7-inch FWVGA display, a 1.2GHz quad-core Snapdragon 410 processor,  1GB of RAM, 8GB of storage space, a 5-megapixel rear-facing camera, a VGA front-facing shooter, a 2,100mAh battery and Android 4.4 KitKat.

While we’d like to get excited about this device, HTC didn’t provide any price details, so it’s too early to tell if this device is a practical alternative to other affordable smartphones like the LTE version of the Moto G.
