Last week, Motorola began rolling out a soak test for Android 5.0 Lollipop to users of the Moto X Pure Edition, and today it appears Motorola is continuing its soak testing with the second generation Moto G. Several users have reported receiving the update already and Motorola has also published the full release notes on its website (via Android Police).
The release notes for the Moto G’s Android 5.0 Lollipop soak test update were briefly published last week before being taken down by Motorola. The update for the Moto G is packed with all of the Android L features we’ve come to know and love, as well as the Motorola-specific enhancements.
With nearly every flagship Android device, including Google’s own Nexus 5, still without Lollipop, it’s incredibly impressive that the sub-$200 Moto G is already nearing a public rollout. At this rate, Motorola will have updated both the Moto G and Moto X to Android 5.0 Lollipop before Google manages to update the Nexus 5, which is usually the first device to receive an update.
Moto G 2014 users can read the full change-log on Motorola’s website while they wait for the soak test to hit their device or wait for the public release to come.
