Sketchy leak suggests lower-end LG ‘G4c’ smartphone incoming w/ Snapdragon 410

A new report from German site winfuture.de suggests today that a new LG G4 variant, sporting model number LG-H525N, is in line for announcement later this year. This isn’t simply a smaller version of super-powerful LG G4, though; the site suggests that this miniature “G4” variant will be a middle-range phone with mediocre specifications.

The phone will purportedly have a 5-inch display at with 720p resolution, a quad-core 64-bit Snapdragon 410 processor clocked at 1.2 GHz, and will pack LTE support as well. The cameras on this phone will also be mediocre (especially compared to the full-fledged G4), with the back supposedly packing an 8-megapixel sensor while the front will be 5-megapixels. The battery, additionally, is pitted at 2540 mAh—which is actually decent for a phone with a 5-inch screen.

As for the cosmetic appearance, sources for winfuture say that the phone will be available in metallic grey, white, and gold. If the above render is legitimate, the phone will have a very similar appearance to the G4 with the exception of the removal of the laser autofocus module and redesigned branding (and, obviously, a smaller overall build). There’s also a slightly redesigned speaker grille.

There’s no word on an Amaerican launch, but the phone will reportedly be reaching the German market specifically in early June, with a price expected at 279 Euros (or just over $300).
