Google‘s upcoming I/O event gathers a lot of anticipation from developers all over the world. Likewise, Android enthusiasts that are not directly involved in coding still very much look forward to the event.
That means — despite their relatively hefty price tag — when tickets become available, they generally sell out in minutes. However, as an Android Police tipster shows, it looks like Google is still pushing out last-minute invites to some lucky applicants…
The tickets’ lottery, which began last March, has arguably left little hope to those asking for a place. However, likely due to unconfirmed acceptances, a final wave of last-minute invites is currently rolling out.
As per the emails received by applicants, some tickets are in fact still available, and will be until next Monday, May 9. It sure is short notice, but hey, it’s I/O we’re talking about.
This year’s event will take place in the unusual outdoorsy space of the Shoreline Amphitheatre, and run for three days straight starting May 18.
Expect to see Android N‘s final unveiling, some sort of Chrome OS “integration”, updates on Google’s VR roadmap… and hopefully a few things we ourselves are getting our hopes up for.
