Official Galaxy Note 7 teaser hints at waterproofing, fingerprint sensor, more [Video]

Information about Samsung’s upcoming Galaxy Note 7 just keeps rolling in as the Korean company’s August 2nd event approaches, and the latest — following a set of leaks earlier today — is an official teaser video straight from the Korean company. The video teases new fingerprint technology, waterproofing, perhaps an improved selfie camera, and more…

There’s obviously nothing too specific that this teaser shares, but we do get a couple glimpses at potential features. The video opens with a fingerprint on the screen, followed by a user unlocking the device from several different lock screens. There’s also a woman shown taking a selfie in low light, a cryptic road sign, some highlighters, and a phone dunked in the water.

Perhaps the clearest hint is waterproofing. The video shows a phone being dunked in water, and there’s pretty much only one thing that could mean. The rest of the clips are up for interpretation, and I’d say the fingerprint is just a confirmation that the Note 7 will indeed have a fingerprint sensor, while the highlighters are making reference to the S Pen stylus and features that will surely be included.

We still haven’t seen the full specifications leak (there’s still time!), but on July 12th, Samsung announced its latest Unpacked event for August 2nd, just as was previously leaked. The event — focused mainly on taking the wraps off the Note 7 — will be taking place in New York City at 11AM. We’ll keep you in the loop.
