Just like many other Android OEMs, Samsung has built fingerprint gestures into the Galaxy S9 and S9+. Here’s how to enable and use them…
Steps to enable fingerprint gestures on Samsung Galaxy S9/S9+
- Enabling swipe up/down gestures
- Samsung Pay
1. Enabling swipe up/down gestures
First, head into your Galaxy S9/S9+’s settings menu by swiping down the notification shade and tapping on the gear icon. Next, select Advanced features and locate Finger sensor gestures. Here, you can either merely toggle the setting on or tap on the option’s text to read more about it.
Once enabled, you can swipe down on the fingerprint sensor to lower the notification shade without having to reach to the top of your screen.
2. Samsung Pay
While in the fingerprint gestures menu, you might have noticed the option to turn on the Samsung Pay gesture. You can enable this by just toggling it on. By doing so, anytime you swipe up on the fingerprint sensor, you’ll quickly launch Samsung Pay.
