Motorola Razr+ (2024) leaks with Snapdragon 8S Gen 3, bigger battery, same price

Over the past couple of weeks that leaks have started rolling for Motorola’s next Razr, but today there’s a huge leak that reveals the pricing and specs of the Motorola Razr+ (2024) in the US.

SmartPrix reports that the Motorola Razr+ (2024) – set to be sold internationally as the Razr 50 Ultra – will be sold for the same price as its predecessor. The phone will sell for $999 despite bringing some rather big upgrades.

On the spec sheet, the Motorola Razr+ (2024) will boost its memory and storage to 12GB and 256GB, respectively, up from 8GB and 128GB on the prior model. There’s no word if that’s also UFS 4.0, but it seems likely. It will also jump from a 3,800 mAh battery to 4,000 mAh, which should bring a somewhat noticeable improvement to battery life.

Interestingly, the new Razr won’t be running Qualcomm’s flagship chipset, nor a generation behind like the last one. Rather, it will use the recently-announced Snapdragon 8S Gen 3. That’s a less powerful chip compared to Snadragpon 8 Gen 3, but it brings many of the same features including on-device AI support.

That’s important for Motorola, as it’s also reported that this device will emphasize some of the copmany’s new AI features including using AI for photo editing and also photo/video capture AI.

Otherwise, the device runs Android 14, an update the original model has still yet to receive.

Further mentioned in this new report are the same display specs as the existing Razr+, a new IPX6 water resistance rating – implying the dust resistance of the prior model is gone – and the same duo of 50MP cameras.

Motorola Razr+ (2024) – which apparently will come in “Midnight Blue,” “Spring Green,” and “Hot Pink” – is likely to launch in the next several weeks, as the previous model launched in early June 2023. Previous leaks have shown the design is unchanged.
