The first wave of laptops powered by Snapdragon X Elite and Plus chips have arrived and, included in that, is the new Acer Swift 14 AI, starting at $1,099.
Launching in July, the Acer Swift 14 AI is the company’s very first laptop powered by Snapdragon X. The laptop will be available with either Snapdragon X Elite or Snapdragon X Plus depending on configuration, with Plus variants being on the more affordable side of things.
Acer says that Swift 14 AI can include up to 32GB of RAM and up to 1TB of storage.
The laptop features a 14.5-inch IPS display at 2560×1600 with a 120Hz refresh rate. It’s not a 2-in-1 machine, but has a 180-degree hinge that supports being opened with one hand. The machine is also packed with a 1440p IR webcam and an illuminated touchpad that can interact with Microsoft’s Copilot AI.
In terms of ports, Acer includes two USB-C ports for charging, data transfer, and display output as well as two full-size USB 3.2 ports. Battery life is claimed to be up to 16 hours.
Note: Following the announcement, Acer corrected that the machine has no HDMI port and has 16 hours of battery against the previously-claimed 12 hours.
The pricing here, Acer says, will start at $1,099, making it among the most affordable options. That price includes Snapdragon X Plus with 16GB of RAM, 1TB of storage, and no touchscreen. The version with Snapdragon X Elite will add a touchscreen and the same memory and storage, but at $1,249.
Acer Swift 14 AI launches in the US and North America in July starting at $1,099, but in Europe and other countries starting in June from €1,499.
