AAWireless ‘TWO’ adapter for wireless Android Auto launches October 20 for $65

One of the best, if not the best adapter for wireless Android Auto has been the original, AAWireless. Now, it’s getting a sequel in AAWireless “TWO,” which launches on October 20.

AAWireless was first created by developers who had managed to find a way to let users turn an old Android device into an adapter for wireless Android Auto. That concept turned into a crowdfunded hardware product that accomplished that goal easily and affordably. There are now several other adapters on the market, but we’ve found nothing quite as capable as AAWireless.

Now, that’s getting a sequel.

Following its initial reveal and our hands-on with the product earlier this year, AAWireless “TWO” is officially coming to market on October 20.

What’s new this time around? The new version has an updated design that’s 30% smaller and has a more prominent status LED to help make pairing and troubleshooting easier. This new version also has a built-in button which has multiple functions, most notably letting you switch between connected phones. The button also allows the connection to a phone to be temporarily stopped and is customizable through the AAWireless app (which just got a redesign).

The only thing you’ll find missing this around is CarPlay. Support for Apple’s platform was available in the first generation in beta, but the team behind AAWireless found that hardware limitations were restricting CarPlay functionality. As such, a second AAWireless “TWO+” will launch in early 2025 with support for both platforms.

AAWireless “TWO” will launch on October 20, exactly four years after the first AAWreieless launched its Indiegogo campaign.

The new dongle will be available first in the United States and throughout Europe, coming to the UK, Switzerland, Turkey, South Korea, and Japan later on. AAWireless “TWO” will also launch at a lower price than the first generation, costing just $64.99 in the US. When the device launches later this month, it’ll be available directly through Amazon.
