After unveiling a revamped “quote tweet” functionality for iPhone and web users last week, Twitter today has revealed that the feature is coming to Android devices today. With this change, using the quote tweet feature will now embed the actual tweet instead of simply quoting it as plain text.
With this new quote functionality, users can now add 116 characters worth of a comment to any tweet, no matter the original length. One of the long-running complaints against Twitter’s quote retweet feature has been the difficultly of adding your own comment to someone’s tweet, so this change certainly helps ease those complaints.
Since the update rolled out to iPhone and web users last week, Android users have been seeing a lot of comments with links to tweets. Now, those tweets should appear with an actual embed. The update is rolling out now and should hit all devices soon. Check it out on the Play Store.
