LG G3 specs leaked, get ready for quad HD displays

Supposed specs for LG’s upcoming flagship smartphone were spotted on Sprint’s internal device database by MyLGPhones (via PhoneArena). The upcoming G3, internally known as the LG LS990, will have a 1440×2560 display — that’s four times 720p, which is considered HD, and twice the resolution of current flagships like the Samsung Galaxy S5 and the HTC One (M8). All of those pixels will be in a panel that is rumored to be 5.3 inches, making for roughly 530 pixels-per-inch — almost double the dots-per-inch of photos and text in magazines.

The listing in Sprint’s database states that the device will ship with KitKat (Android 4.4.2), come with a Snapdragon 800 (MSM8974) clocked at 2.3 GHz, 32 GB of built-in storage, and support for a microSD memory card of up to 64 GB. Regardless, the G3 is shaping up to be a monster of a device. Nexus fans rejoice, as this has been the smartphone that both the Nexus 4 and 5 were based on. LG fans, it seems as if your manufacturer of choice finally has a leg-up on Samsung’s flagship. The LG G3 is expected to be announced later this summer.
