Google Play Store update rolling out w/ new My Account page, interface tweaks, more

A day after rolling out updates to nearly every app it makes, Google this afternoon has announced an update to the Play Store itself. In a post on Google+, Google employee Krill Grouchnikov announced the update, saying that it’s coming soon to Android devices everywhere. The update makes several user interface tweaks for both pre-Lollipop devices and ones on Lollipop. It bumps the app to version 5.1.

First, the update adds a new My Account page to the app. This page feature easy ways to add credit cards to your account, buy Google Play credit, and attach a PayPal account. You can also view all of your past purchases on this new page, including hardware purchases made via Google Play. Essentially, it’s an easy way to view everything you’ve ever done on Google Play.

The update also tweaks the navigation drawer, making it a full-height interface as a opposed previous builds of the Play Store in which the portion below the action bar was all that slid-out. General scrolling and performance improvements have been made, as well. Users on Android 5.0 Lollipop will also now notice realtime card shadows.

The update is rolling out now to Android devices. To check for the update, go to Settings in Google Play and tap on the build number. If the update is available for your device, you will be prompted to install it.

Coming soon to your Android device(s). The latest release of Play Store has full-height drawer, real-time card shadows on L+, consistent visuals and scrolling in My Apps and a brand new My Account page. The rest you’ll need to hunt down on your own :)
