Hulu Plus is now available on seven Android tablets with a new user interface.

The “Hulu Plus” app is available on Google Play with an improved experience for the Asus Eee Pad Transformer Prime, Asus Eee Pad Transformer, Motorola Xoom, Motorola XYBoard 10.1, Toshiba Thrive, Acer Iconia, and LG G-Slate.

“This is just the beginning of our Android tablet rollout,” announced Hulu on its official blog.

Hulu is a flash-based service with ad-supported on-demand streaming video of television shows, movies, webisodes, and trailers from a variety of content suppliers, including NBC, Fox, ABC, CBS, and Nickelodeon. Hulu Plus is the $7.99 monthly subscription variant that officially launched in 2010 and allots subscribers an expanded content library. Like the free version, Hulu’s videos showcase commercials.

The new “Hulu Plus” app features horizontal trays for easy swiping through television shows and movies. It also highlights large thumbnails for maximizing the tablet’s graphical power. Further enhancements include a “What You’re Watching” tray to hold a place in a movie or series, and a reorganized library with popular and recommended content, trending clips, and movie trailers.

“When building this app, we looked for ways to grant you instant access to exactly what you want to watch. Once you decide on a show, hold your finger down on the show’s thumbnail and the latest episode of the series will automatically start playing,” explained Hulu. “If you’ve been following a show for a while, hold your finger down on the show’s thumbnail and the next episode will automatically launch based on where you are in the series.”

Hulu Plus is compatible on a wide-range of platforms, including: Blu-ray players, TiVo DVR boxes, network-enabled Smart TVs, Wii and Nintendo 3DS, PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, Roku Streaming Player, WD TV Media Player, smartphones, and now Android tablets.

“Our team worked hard to build a fresh and engaging way to experience premium content on Android tablets, and we hope you enjoy it as much as we do,” Hulu added.

The “Hulu Plus” app is free on Google Play and boasts 3,845 reviews with a 3.3-star rating as of press time. The app’s version and Android OS requirement varies per device.
