Entirely new 1Password for Android app now available with redesigned interface, totally free until August 1

After teasing the redesign earlier this year, 1Password has finally launched a much-needed update to its Android app. Prior to this update, 1Password on Android was hideous, to say the least. The new version released today brings an entirely refreshed interface to the app that puts it on the same level as its iOS counterparts.

For those unfamiliar, 1Password is a service that allows you to store all of your passwords within a single app. To access them, all you have to do is log into the app with your master password. From there, you can copy and paste the login you’re looking for into another app or website. The clipboard then auto-clears itself, the app relocks itself, and you are logged into.

While 1Password is normally a premium app, you can get all the features of it for free through August 1st. After that, you’ll have to upgrade via an in-app purchase, but developers AgileBits have yet to determine that price.

  • Create, edit, and use all sorts of items, including: Credit Cards, Secure Notes, Passports, Bank Accounts, and much more
  • Mark your most-used items as Favorites for quick access
  • Organize your items into Folders
  • View attachments added from PC or Mac
  • Find what you need quickly with powerful search
  • Customize your items to save everything you need

The updated, redesigned 1Password for Android app is available on the Play Store now. It’s important to note that it launched as version 1.0, so if you have the old 1Password Reader app for Android installed, you’ll have to install this one as it won’t update.
