The upcoming HTC flagship is probably one of the most exciting smartphone launches scheduled for the next couple of months, and today Phandroid has shared photos that claim to show the rumored “Hima” device in the flesh. There’s nothing crazy or exciting to see here, but we do now have a bit of corroboration of things we knew previously.
Giving the device a quick glance could be confusing to some, as the device does looks very—albeit unsurprisingly—similar to the previous HTC One (M7) and (M8) devices. One notable change can be seen in these photos, however, and that is the Taiwanese decision to move the power button from the top of the device to a more accessible location on the side. As happened with the Nexus 6 and other phablets, HTC has also moved the volume rocker to be a bit lower on the right side.
As for the device’s specs, the source of the above picture was able to confirm what we’ve heard elsewhere. The phone is all-but-surely going to have a 5-inch 1080p display, a 20.7-megapixel rear-facing camera, an UltraPixel front-facing camera, Snapdragon’s next-generation 810 processor (with 8 cores), 3 GB of RAM, and a 2,840 mAh battery.
As we reported last week, HTC is planning to announce the “Hima” HTC One (M9) smartphone at the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona, Spain. We’ll be there on the ground in early March to keep you updated on all the happenings, including announcements from other companies like Samsung as well.
