Inbox by Gmail adds Photos-integreated attachment picker, posts can be pinned to Google+ Profile

Google has been sprucing up their web apps this week as the first new updates of 2016 start to trickle in. Inbox by Gmail on the web adds a super convenient photo and attachment picker, while Google Plus now allows users to pin posts to their profiles.

The attachment picker in Inbox is brought up by the same paperclip icon, but now reveals a slide out menu that groups your files by recently received, recently sent, and Google Photos. Clicking on ‘show more’ expands to lists your 48 most recent items in each grouping. Users can still of course select and upload files from their computer. Inbox has yet to add the Google Drive integration that has long been in Gmail.

Following up on this week’s Android update, the new Google+ preview now allows users to pin a post to their profile. Users will have to go to the post page to find the pin option under the overflow button. Pinning another item will replace the previous pinned post. In addition to 37 bug fixes, it is now easier to move any of your posts into a Collection and there is now a simpler way to invite people to a Community.
