Google to launch a partner program for agencies that build Android apps

Google is set to launch a new agency partner program, according to people familiar with the company’s plans. The program involves a certification process for larger agencies that build Android apps, giving them early access to things like Android releases, SDKs, and more…

Google already provides select companies, developers, and development agencies early access to software for Android proper, Android Wear, Android TV, Chrome OS, and other products, but the new program will make this process easier and more official. The program also marks an effective Google “stamp of approval” on larger 3rd party development firms.

Stay tuned for tomorrow morning when Google takes the stage for its 2016 Google I/O keynote. This program is expected to be mentioned in official capacity at some point this week, and tomorrow’s keynote is expected to highlight Android VR, a new messaging platform from Google, some updates on Android N, and more.
