Since the launch of the Note 7, Samsung has been plagued with countless issues involving the handset. Following an official recall in conjunction with the Consumer Product Safety Commission, Samsung replaced over a million defective units, but even these new Note 7’s are having issues. According to a new report, Samsung is now halting the production of the Note 7, at least for the time being…
CNBC has received a report from South Korea’s Yonhap News Agency which states that Samsung is now temporarily suspending production of the handset. This comes just hours after AT&T and T-Mobile both halted sales of the Galaxy Note 7.
According to Yonhap’s unnamed source at a Samsung supplier, this production suspension is in conjunction with consumer safety agencies from the United States, China, and Samsung’s home country of South Korea. The source stated the following:
This measure includes a Samsung plant in Vietnam that is responsible for global shipments (of the Galaxy Note 7)
Samsung has yet to officially comment on this report.
