Following its pledge to push an update to permanently disable Galaxy Note 7 devices, Verizon is today honoring that commitment by promptly rolling out the new software…

As you may expect, the update doesn’t do anything but essentially brick your device, by preventing it from charging and thus avoiding the potential outcomes we’ve all unfortunately come familiar with.

While carriers are often blasted for their slow pace in dealing with updates, it’s good to see that when the very safety of people is at stake, promises are kept with no delays.

If you’re a VZW customer still using Samsung‘s infamous phablet, we strongly suggest that you download the update (v MMB29M.N930VVRS3APL2) right now and return the device as soon as possible. Stay safe.
