We are less than a month out from MWC and LG’s event where we expect them to unveil the G6. Unsurprisingly, the closer we get to the event, the more information about the phone leaks out. The latest rumor — which comes from Evan Blass — is that LG will be launching the G6 in the U.S. on April 7, a month after it releases in South Korea…
Included in Blass’ latest tweet is what appears to be the diagram for the G6’s packaging. Sporting a rather simple design, the packaging will feature a large “G6” on top, have device specific information like the IMEI and serial number on one side, and have “Life’s Good When You Play More” printed on the other side. We don’t know what LG plans to do with the “Play More” marketing slogan, but it might have to do with a line of accessories similar to the LG G5’s ‘Friends.‘
Since December we have been getting a better idea of what the LG G6 will look like. Two months ago, we got our first look at a diagram of the handset which featured a very similar design to LG’s past smartphones. Then came a photo of the front of the handset as well as leaked images of G6 prototypes. This all comes together as we are now seeing case renders for the phone.
The LG G6 event at MWC 2017 is taking place on February 26. As of now, we know that the phone will feature a 5.7-inch QHD+ display with an 18:9 aspect ratio, a nearly bezel-less design, water resistance, and feature Google Assistant. More information to come soon.
