Google rebrands Duet AI in Workspace to Gemini with new Business and Enterprise plans

As teased earlier this month, the Gemini rebrand is now coming to Duet AI in Gmail, Drive, Docs, and other Google Workspace apps.

This is a straightforward rebrand of existing features, including Gemini-powered Help me write in Gmail and Google Docs, which also has Proofread. Then there’s Create images in Google Slides, while there’s also Generate a background in Google Meet.

The video calling app also offers Studio Lighting, Look, and Sound enhancements. Lastly, there’s Google Sheets offers Help me organize for custom tables/templates and Enhanced Smart Fill Google Slides.

Meanwhile, Gemini Business and Enterprise customers now have access to a standalone gemini.google.com experience powered by Gemini 1.0 Ultra.

Gemini Business provides access to those suite of “Help me” and create/generate capabilities in Workspace apps, as well as gemini.google.com. It is “subject to monthly usage limits.” This Google Workspace add-on is “as low as $20 per user per month, with an annual commitment.”

Meanwhile, Gemini Enterprise (formerly Duet AI for Workspace Enterprise) offers the same capabilities, but with a more Meet features with “full usage and access.” Gemini can translate live captions in over 100 language pairs, while Take notes for me is coming soon. It’s priced “as low as $30 per user per month, with an annual commitment,” like before.

Customers will get “enterprise-grade data protections and copyright indemnification.”

With a Gemini Business and Gemini Enterprise plan, your conversations are not used for advertising purposes, reviewed by human reviewers or otherwise used to train generative machine-learning technologies.

Gemini Business and Enterprise is rolling out today, while Google today teased bringing Gemini for Workspace to education customers. Gemini Enterprise is also available to Google Workspace for Nonprofits.
