After the FCC lifted a restriction on how soon carriers need to unlock devices, Verizon has extended its device unlock policy to a whopping 365 days.

Verizon experienced a severe network outage some days ago, leaving users without access to data or cell service entirely. Verizon has since offered users a $20 credit, and Visible is tagging on since its users were affected as well.

Verizon customers across the country were taken offline yesterday as a massive network outage cut out cell service entirely for many customers for several hours, but Verizon says that “account credits” will be sent out to those affected.

The FCC lifted a restriction that required Verizon to automatically unlock devices after 60 days, allowing the company to keep devices locked within the network for the entirety of the user’s payment plan.
