Motorola officially announces the Moto X Style & Moto X Play

Motorola has officially unveiled the Moto X Style, its top-of-the-line offering for those looking for a good-looking powerhouse. The company also unveiled a second Moto X called the Moto X Play, which is more rugged and offers better battery, but is less powerful in terms of tech specs.

Moto X Style packs a 5.7-inch Quad HD display and the Snapdragon 808 running at 1.8 GHz, 3 GB of RAM, 4G LTE, and storage tiers at 16, 32, and 64 GB. The phone has a beastly 21-megapixel main camera w/ a f/2.0 aperture and 4K video capture, a dual-tone flash, a 5-megapixel front cam, and a front-facing flash as well. As for the battery, the Style sits at 3,000 mAh which gives you up to 30 hours of mixed use. As expected, the Moto X Style will be customizable via Moto Maker, and you can now pick silicon rubber material as a new back option.

Moto X Play offers up to 48-hours of battery life and a water-repellent design, as well as slightly lesser specifications compared to the Moto X Style. You get a slightly-smaller 5.5-inch HD display, a 1.7GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 615, 2 GB of RAM, a 21 megapixel camera, a 5-megapixel front-facing camera, and a 3630 mAh battery. Of course, the phone runs Android Lollipop 5.1.1 out of the box.

Moto X Style, which costs $399 for the Pure Edition, will be available starting sometime in September. The Moto X Play will be available in 55 countries starting August (but, unfortunately, this doesn’t include the United States).
