Wileyfox introduces three new affordable Android devices starting at £90

Up and coming British smartphone manufacturer Wileyfox has today announced three new affordable smartphones. Today’s announcements come following the company’s first devices released last fall and are the Wileyfox Spark, Spark+, and Spark X.

The Spark comes in at £90 and is powered by a 1.3GHz quad-core MediaTek processor coupled with 1GB of RAM. The device rocks a 5-inch 720p display, 2,200mAh battery, and an 8MP camera. There’s also a microSD card slot and a dual-SIM card tray, which will be useful for international travelers. The Spark+ is largely the same as the Spark, but features 2GB of RAM and 16GB of storage. The rear camera is slightly improved, coming in at 13MP.

At the top of the hierarchy is the Spark X, which sports a larger 5.5-inch display but keeps the same 720p resolution. To accommodate for the larger display, there’s a heftier 3,000mAh battery. The device is powered by the same 1.3GHz quad-core MediaTek processor, 2GB of RAM, and 16GB of storage as the Spark+.

With the new Spark series devices, Wileyfox is continuing its partnership with Cyanogen and run Cyanogen OS 13, which is built off of Android 6.0 Marshmallow.

In terms of design, all three new Spark devices feature a grainy back design with the Wileyfox logo slapped on the middle. While the white color models don’t carry the same grainy texture, they do feature bright gold accents.

Currently, the baseline Spark is available for pre-order now, while the Spark+ and Spark X will launch near the end of next month.
