PSA: Daydream View VR headset and Chromecast Ultra now available for pre-order

When Google announced their brand new Pixel phones, they also unveiled the Daydream View — a VR headset that is compatible with the company’s Daydream VR platform — and the Chromecast Ultra — capable of streaming 4K content. Starting today, both products are available for pre-order.

Currently, if you head on over to the Google Store, you will be able to add a Daydream View to your cart and order it. Going for $79, Google states that it will ship out the VR headset to you in two to three weeks. For now, only the Slate color is available for purchase.

If you don’t feel like picking it up from Google, Verizon is also accepting Daydream View pre-orders here. It still costs $79 for the VR headset but the wireless carrier does state that it will ship by November 16. Just remember that if you’ve already pre-ordered the Pixel or Pixel XL from either Google or Verizon, you should receive a promotional code for a free Daydream View several weeks after your phone ships.

The Chromecast Ultra is also available for pre-order on the Google Store for $69. Much like the Chromecasts of previous years, the Ultra plugs into an HDMI port in the back of your television and allows you to cast content onto the screen with your phone, tablet, or computer as the remote. The Ultra brings with it the ability to stream 4K and HDR content plus it is able to plug into Ethernet with no additional accessories required.
