Last weekend, Berlin-based developer Matt Aussaguel decided to further his Material Design exploration by creating a website for generating and exporting Material Design color palettes for Android Lollipop. Aussaguel believes that Material Palette could be the first Material Design color palette generator and a very useful tool for both developers and user interface designers alike.
The website simply requires you to click on two different colors from a wide selection: red, pink, purple, deep purple, indigo, blue, deep blue, light blue, cyan, teal, green, light green, lime, yellow, amber, orange, deep orange, brown, grey and blue grey. Then, a color palette is automatically generated and can be downloaded in CSS, SASS, SVG, XML or PNG format.
Aussaguel has also created a sister website called MaterialUp that provides a daily showcase of the best Material Design websites, apps and concepts. If you are a developer or designer planning to work on Android Lollipop, then both websites should prove to be valuable resources. Also consider checking out Material UI, Material Design by AngularJS, Material Design for Bootstrap and Material Interaction.
I love to see how designers are using #materialdesign! Looks like I'm not the only one… http://t.co/lqON6M7hAt
