This is the best look at LG’s upcoming Nexus 5 (2015) we’ve seen yet

Of the Nexus announcements scheduled for later this month, the rumored LG Nexus 5 is definitely the one we know more about. A month ago the first full renders leaked, and just a few weeks ago, a photo of the device in the flesh managed to leak out as well. At least a couple publications have confirmed that this physical build is indeed the new Nexus, and we’ve even seen independent reports confirming its specifications as well.

But it’s not over yet, as Android Pit has now come out with images it claims are the new device, and they’re definitely the best look we’ve had yet…

As you can see in both images, the device packs the Nexus branding across its center, a dual-tone LED flash, another module that is assumably a laser autofocus, and a camera that slightly protrudes — somewhat like the iPhone 6  — from the back of the phone.

To me, both of these images look like Android Pit took the real photos from last month and made some of their own renders. But Kris Carlon says that this isn’t the case, and that the images were simply photoshopped to remove the background and straighten the image.

A second angle of the device in shown below, with what is assumably the power and volume buttons along the phone’s right side. Interestingly, these buttons seem to be of the mushy Nexus 9 variety. Let’s hope they aren’t too terrible.

According to an earlier report out of Android Police citing a “reliable source,” LG’s upcoming to “Nexus 5” (which reportedly isn’t firmly the device’s name yet), will sport a Snapdragon 808, a 5.2-inch 1080p display, 3 GB of RAM, a 2700 mAh battery, USB-C support, a 12.3-megapixel main sensor, and a 5-megapixel front camera. The device will come in at a “sub-flagship level,”  will offer both 16 and 32 GB models, and ship in three colors: black, white, and blue.

The purported “Nexus 5X,” as sources for Android Authority have reportedly called the phone, will be available in — as Android Police also reported — black, white, and light blue, and will feature a USB Type-C port along the bottom and a plastic overall build. According to the same site’s sources, the phone will start at $399 for a 16 GB — yes, a 16 GB base device is coming in late 2015 — model, and $449 for the higher 32 GB variant.

As mentioned, a recent report from CNET says that Google is planning to unveil two Nexus handsets — this Nexus 5 from LG, and another from Huawei — at an event scheduled from September 29th. Stay tuned.
