We don’t know too much about LG’s upcoming V20 flagship, but we have heard some tidbits here and there. We have a rough idea of what it’ll look like by way of renders that leaked a couple of weeks ago, we know that it’s coming in September with Android Nougat and a dual-camera system, and we know that it will have some Quad DAC audio capabilities.
Now, another teaser from LG touts that the phone will have “the best video and audio experience” on a smartphone…
To break it down, there are a just few new details we’re learning from this teaser (posted on LG’s Korean site, Google translate):
- We already knew that it would have superior audio playback in the form of the 32-bit Quad DAC, but this image seems to suggest that the V20 could somehow be used in place of a professional microphone. Maybe we’ll see better mics on this device.
- We previously knew the phone would launch in September, but thanks to this teaser we know that LG is specifically planning an event in San Francisco for September 6.
- On top of the San Francisco event, LG is also planning to have an event in its home country of South Korea a day later. That event will take place September 7.
More information is sure to leak in the coming weeks as the launch of the phone nears, so stay tuned. I was a huge fan of the LG V10, and it looks like the V20 is going to be a great successor. For me, the only downside so far seems to be that the company is going without the textured back and instead opting for a smooth aluminum finish. I might be in the minority, but I hope those renders are wrong.
