Asus Zenfone 11 Ultra launches on March 14 with its much bigger size

For the past couple of years, the Asus Zenfone has been touted as one of the best Android phones thanks to its compact size in a sea of giant devices. But, now, Asus is teasing the launch of the Asus Zenfone 11 Ultra and touting its “ultra size” as a key selling point.

On an event page, Asus confirms a March 14 event where it will unveil the Zenfone 11 Ultra. The event takes place at 8am ET.

The teaser page shows us a device with a centered selfie camera cutout on the display and shrinking bezels, but there’s really not all that much information to go on. A few more key points lower down on the page show off “Ultra-Smooth Video Stability,” long-lasting battery, and portrait mode in video.

The last point Asus emphasizes is the most impactful, though. The company teases the “Ultra Size” of the Zenfone 11 Ultra and shows a brief clip of someone holding the device and, well, it’s definitely not the same compact smartphone that’s been on the past couple of generations.

The Asus Zenfone 11 Ultra, as a previous leak revealed, is effectively a re-skinned Asus ROG Phone 8 with some additional colors and the same Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chip. This comes after, last year, a report claimed that Asus would shut down its Zenfone lineup and fold it into the ROG division. Asus denied the claim, but it seems there was some truth to that.

We’ll see all the Zenfone 11 Ultra has to offer in just a few weeks and while there’s no evidence yet, hopefully, a smaller counterpart is also in the pipeline.
