Over the last month, we have seen applications such as YouTube and Hulu gain support and add features for Google’s virtual reality platform, Daydream. Today, Google is expanding Daydream’s platform by introducing 10 new applications including both HBO GO and NOW, Netflix, Need for Speed, and much more…
With today’s announcement, Daydream users will now have access to over 50 games, 360-degree video experiences, and media streaming applications to enjoy in virtual reality. Some of the new games that were revealed today are LEGO BrickHeadz Builder VR, where you can play and build with virtual Legos, Need for Speed No Limits VR, a fast paced automotive racing game, and Wands, an application that allows you to cast spells in an 1880’s London.
If you were running out of things to watch on YouTube and Hulu while sitting in a VR cinema, there’s good news as HBO and Netflix have now brought their offerings to Daydream as well. Sit back and relax as you can now stream your favorite TV shows and movies from HBO GO, NOW, and Netflix.
Lastly, Google has officially acknowledged that the Moto Z and Z Force have gained Daydream support, and is letting everyone know that the brand new ‘Crimson’ and ‘Snow’ Daydream View headsets — that we told you became available last week — are now shipping.
