One of the newest features to come to the Netflix application on Android is the ability to download content for offline playback. This is useful so you can watch your favorite TV shows or movies without using your data. With the release of version 4.13, you can now download content to an SD card if your phone or tablet supports it…
In addition to the added ability to store content on an SD card, if your device has a built-in microSD card slot, you can also use USB-based forms of storage. For example, because the Huawei Mate 9 has a card slot, we were able to mount and use a USB-C flashdrive to store and play Netflix content. When we attempted the process with the Google Pixel, Netflix would not recognize the added storage.

How to change your download location:
- Launch the Netflix application on your phone or tablet
- Tap on the Menu icon in the upper-left side of the screen
- Scroll down to App Settings
- Locate the Download Location option in the Downloads section
- Select Download Location and tap on SD Card
Now that you have changed the download location, you can go ahead and download content to your phone or tablet like normal. You can find Netflix content that is available for download by opening the menu and selecting the Available for Download option. Once you find something that you like, tap on the downward facing arrow to download it to your device.
