PSA: ASUS now offers a 16 GB ZenFone 2 variant w/ 4 GB of RAM for $229

We got our first look at the ZenFone 2 all the way back at CES 2015 (and we recently gave the ZenFone 2E the review treatment), but now it appears (via Lilliputing), that ASUS is offering yet another model of the phone. While its hefty 4 GB of RAM was previously restricted to the higher-capacity models, ASUS is now offering a 16 GB model with the larger memory option for $229.

If you’re in the market to add a ZenFone to your Android arsenal, but you don’t want to pitch the extra cost for the 64 GB model, this is your handset of choice. Previously, the 16 GB model — which started at just $200 — was offered only with 2 GB of RAM, but now you can double the RAM for $30 more. It’s a no brainer, especially considering 2 GB of RAM is a little on the low side for 2015.

You can grab the new variant — in black, silver, gold, or red — on Amazon for $229 shipped.

Report: HTC EVO 3D Getting Rebranded as ‘EVO V 4G’ for Virgin Mobile in 2012

Virgin Mobile is getting ready to introduce the HTC EVO 3D rebranded as the “HTC EVO V 4G” later this year, according to a report from PocketNow citing a “reliable source.” The report noted the device originally launched almost a year ago with its plum color variant exclusive to Best Buy. Both shades including the plum and grey will apparently be available on Virgin sometime in 2012 and, like Sprint, the carrier will also offer 4G hotspot support. The glasses-free EVO 3D can capture 3D images and video with its two 5-megapixel cameras, and it packs a dual-core 1.2GHz processor and qHD resolution display. The EVO V 4G variant for Virgin will presumably have similar specs.

AT&T has officially announced a white variant of their Samsung Galaxy S II Skyrocket slated for a December 4th release. The device is more than likely identical to the original black model which debuted on AT&T as one of their first true 4G LTE devices on November 6th.

If you’re unfamiliar with the Skyrocket, you can expect a 4.5-inch Super AMOLED display (800×480),  8-megapixel cam (2-megapixel front shooter), a 1.5GHz dual-core processor, and Android 2.3.5. That device is available for $250 on a two-year contract, and the white model will land for the same price at the end of the week.
