We first heard about Chargie a few years ago when Lighty Gadgets first debuted a unit to optimize charging for smartphones. Now, Chargie is back in a new version focused on laptop battery health.

Despite device makers having solutions for battery aging that sets charge limits at 80% automatically, the reality is it isn’t always reliable or available or on older devices that don’t support the feature. Chargie allows for more granular scheduling, much lower and configurable overnight charging states, and is overall the better solution to charging optimization. Chargie makes it easy by giving you the ability to manually adjust the charging limit along with a fully controllable daily scheduler to keep the battery at a much safer 50% or 60% while you can, and also have it at 90 or 100% at times when you need longer battery life.

Google has started to recruit a group of “Google TV Advisors” to help gather user feedback on the TV experience and new features.

One of the clever features of Google Pixel has long been “Now Playing,” a feature that can ambiently recognize music, and it appears Google is working on some new additions including the ability to set a default music app.

Ahead of its launch sometime next year, Google’s Pixel 9a has surfaced again in another hands-on leak that shows off an alleged prototype.

With the year winding down, Google Photos is rolling out its 2024 Recap, which has two parts.

In addition to the existing “Help me write” capability, Gemini in Google Docs is going a step further with “Help me create.”

Following AI Camera Search, the Google Home app is testing another Gemini-powered feature with “Help me create” in the Android app to generate “custom automations to help you connect and control your smart home more conveniently.” 

Initially introduced as a test feature, Oura is beginning to fully roll out Symptom Radar for its rings, which will be able to detect when the user is beginning to get sick.
