Yahoo Mail update introduces new colored themes among other features

One of the reasons so many users love Android is the virtually endless customization it allows. From core modifications down to the smallest of aesthetic changes, Google‘s OS truly makes it possible for anyone to have something tailored to their needs. Among the things that are most frequently changed are the default apps for services like messaging, social media platforms and emails, among others, as well as third party clients for numerous other apps.

Yahoo’s Mail app, with well over 100 million downloads on the Play Store, can certainly be included on a list of fan-favorite email clients for Android. Today’s update will certainly make at least a few people happy, thanks to the introduction of 11 new themes for a more personalized and colorful experience, in addition to a slew of smaller but certainly welcomed features…

In the “Themes” menu, users will be able to apply new colors such as green, blue, orange and others to different inboxes, including Yahoo Mail, Gmail, Outlook, AOL and Hotmail accounts, so to keep a clear distinction between the various email services. Each color comes with the addition of a light and a dark background, so there are a lot of options here.

Other features include account renaming for even more personalization (like ‘Work’ or ‘Personal’), new photo options that allow images to be quickly moved between the text’s body and the separate attachment, and the ability to create subfolders.

‘Stars’ have received some updates as well. You can now “enable tappable stars to see them in your inbox and other message lists.” And don’t forget that you can quickly swipe a message to Star it right away, using the customizable swipe actions we told you about last month.

Yahoo Mail for Android v5.3 is rolling out now, so go and grab your update.
