Google Pixel’s NBA sponsorship continues for third season

Google Pixel is the “Official Fan Phone of the NBA,” and this multi-year partnership is continuing for its third season tonight with the Pixel 8 Pro.

This year’s campaign is called “Built Different” and features comedian Druski on “his journey to make the League by any means necessary – whether as a player, photographer, stylist or agent – using the Pixel 8 and its various AI-powered features.”

Specifically, you’ll prominently see the Pixel 8 Pro in Bay during the NBA spots, with Google highlighting Call Screen, Audio Magic Eraser, and Live Translate.

It will feature Giannis Antetokounmpo, Jalen Green, and Kelsey Plum, while Jimmy Butler is a new addition this year:

  • Giannis Antetokounmpo: “I’m thrilled to continue working with Team Pixel this year to help bring NBA fans closer to the game they love with the help of Google. In partnering with Google Pixel for three years, I’m proud of the community we’ve established, creating never-before-seen ways for fans to express their fandom, while having a lot of fun along the way. This season, you can catch me both on and off the court showing fans how Pixel is truly built different, which to me means being the best-in-class.”
  • Jimmy Butler: “I’m so excited to join Team Pixel and be a part of Google’s latest campaign for this NBA season. Every fan dreams of making it to the League, but to make it, they know they’ve got to be built different. I loved putting Druski to the test of being an NBA prospect and showing him what it takes to make it. I’m excited to continue working with Google this year to help show fans  how the Pixel 8 can help them plug into the game like no other phone can, and have some fun both on and off the court this season.”

The spots, which span TV, digital, and social, will debut at the NBA Tip-Off with the Los Angeles Lakers facing the Denver Nuggets. There will even be a segment/integration with Ernie Johnson during TNT’s Inside the NBA, while there will be an “entire season’s worth of content.”
