Google app rolls out Song Search Quick Settings Tile on Android [U]

Google is adding yet another way to access its excellent Song Search feature on Android with a Quick Settings (QS) Tile.

Update 10/4: Version 15.39 of Google app is now rolling out via the Play Store to all users (stable channel) with the Song Search Quick Settings Tile.

To add, fully expand Quick Settings and tap the pencil icon. Scroll down (on Pixel) to the very last section and drag to where you want it.

Original 9/30: Google app 15.39 (currently in beta) introduces a “Song Search” QS Tile that features a simple music note icon. Tapping launches the fullscreen globe effect introduced earlier this year. A Google Search results page loads once a match is found. This is the Google app’s first QS Tile and something similar would be useful on Wear OS.

This shortcut comes as the Google app on iOS just introduced a customizable Search widget that also lets you quickly access Song Search, with something similar planned for Android.

Shazam offers something similar, while the Apple-owned app recently introduced the ability to long-press its Tile to quickly access your history.

This method joins the multitude of other ways to access Song Search, including the widget shortcut that can be placed on your homescreen, tapping the voice mic icon in the Search bar > Search a song, Google Assistant/Gemini, and Circle to Search

The Song Search Quick Settings Tile is rolling out with version 15.39 of the Google app. It should hit the stable channel in the next week or so.
