After dropping from availability, the Google TV Streamer remote is finally back in stock.
The new remote on the Google TV Streamer is largely considered an upgrade over the one that shipped with Chromecast with Google TV, as it has a slightly bigger, more comfortable physical size, as well as relocated volume buttons. Its biggest upgrade, though, is the new “Magic” button which can be mapped to functions such as opening your favorite app or opening the Google Home Panel for smart home controls.
Google confirmed early on that this remote, which is sold as a spare for the Streamer, will work with other Google TV devices including the Chromecast.
At a price of just $19.99, it’s a nice upgrade to some of the older Google TV devices. However, the remote has been out of stock for weeks.
Today, we’ve finally seen the Streamer remote come back in stock on the Google Store. Only the “Porcelain” color variant is available, with the “Hazel” option still out of stock for the time being. If you’ve been waiting for the remote to return, now’s the time to act, as we don’t know just how long it will remain available.
Notably, if you happen to live in one of the cities with a physical Google Store, we’ve noticed that there are usually at least a few remotes in stock there.
