As the Galaxy S7 launch closes in on us, leaks are on the increase. The latest — just like the real-life photos of the LG G5 — comes from Dubai selling-site, Dubizzle. In a listing which claims to be selling imported US models of the Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge, the phone is shown off again.
This time, the details are much clearer, unlike the blurry-cam photos we saw a few weeks ago.
As has been rumored plenty in the past, the camera on the back doesn’t seem to be protruding anywhere near as much as the S6, probably because the chassis of the phone is thicker to house the beefier battery.
This leak comes just a day after Evleaks tweeted some new official-looking press renders showing the device in a classy metallic color combo of black, gray and gold. The black model in the photos below corroborates earlier leaked images, and suggests that Samsung is going with a stealthy black model this year, unlike previous years when it decided to launch slightly unusual color tints.
In the listing, the S7 is priced at 4200 AED (approx $1,143 USD), while the S7 Edge is slightly more at 4500 AED ($1,225 USD). Clearly taking advantage of the phone’s unreleased status and desirability.
The Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge will be unveiled this Sunday, with some early rumors suggesting pre-orders might open for the device immediately. Retail launch isn’t expected to kick off until March 11th, and we might even see an iPhone-esque device rental/upgrade program. What’s more, the phone’s official first party case list could include a 2,700mAh battery pack, along with the usual S View covers and a new LED cover.
Spec-wise, we’re expecting two devices boasting Quad HD resolution AMOLED displays. One will purportedly have a screen larger than the other, and feature the trademark dual-curve Edge screens. Inside, there’s likely going to be either the powerful quad-core Snapdragon 820 processor or the octa-core Exynos 8890. They’ll both undoubtedly run Android Marshmallow and Samsung’s latest version of TouchWiz which includes the enhanced Edge panel. We’re also expecting to see a 3,600mAh battery.
