Google Fi increasing the price of Simply Unlimited plans with 3+ lines

Google Fi introduced “Simply Unlimited” in 2021 and the plan is now seeing a price increase if you have three or more members.

Update 3/7: Another update sees Google Fi Unlimited Plus go from offering one year of YouTube Premium to just six months. This change only impacts new subscribers to the plan, with existing customers that have already redeemed getting to finish their 12 months. It somewhat reflects YT Premium getting more expensive.

If your Simply Unlimited account has one ($50) or two ($80 total) members, nothing is changing.

The price for three lines is now $90, while it’s $100 for four accounts. Notably, both previously cost $80. Meanwhile, it’s $125 for five members (from $100) and $150 for six accounts (from $120).

For existing users, this price increase will take effect on their first bill after April 4, 2024. However, “Simply Unlimited accounts with one or more long-term promotions or financed devices activated prior to March 5, 2024 maintain the same effective price until these commitments end.”

Plan credits are issued to each account member to maintain the same effective price for the remainder of the commitments.

If somebody leaves the account they forfeit their credit, but “any members remaining on the original account continue to receive plan credit.”

The increased pricing goes live today for new members. Google Fi says this is to “continue delivering high quality product offerings and features.” Google is making no changes to Fi Flexible or Unlimited Plus, while the Simply Unlimited plan benefits are unchanged:

35 GB of “high-speed data,” calls, and texts within the US, Canada, and Mexico
5 GB of hotspot tethering
Smartwatch connectivity

After launching in 2021, Google lowered the price of Simply Unlimited a year later. There was a small $5 price bump for 3-line accounts in 2023 alongside the updated “Fi Wireless” branding.
