Photos and tech specs of next-generation Nexus phone appear in leaked service manual

Android Police has tracked down a leaked instruction manual for servicing what appears to be an upcoming Nexus phone. The handset is designated LG-D821 and looks to be the next device to support the pure Android experience. The manual contains instructions on servicing the unreleased phone, and includes detailed descriptions of the device’s internal components and photos of the phone itself.

According to the document, the phone will feature…

  • A 4.95″ display
  • 2 GB of RAM
  • A 2.3 GHz Snapdragon 800 processor
  • An 8 MP rear camera
  • A 1.3 MP front camera
  • 32 GB of storage
  • NFC
  • A wireless charging system
  • A 2,300 mAh battery

There are also a number of photos showing the phone in various stages of disassembly and repair. While we haven’t seen the inside of the Nexus 5 before today, we’ve seen the outside quite a few times already. Google accidentally revealed the phone in the Android KitKat announcement video in early September. Less than two weeks later the FCC gave us a better look at the device. Days later, yet another set of leaked images and videos revealed the phone’s new KitKat startup screen when the phone was allegedly found in a bar. Most recently, a MacRumors forum user posted a clear photo of the phone, which was later deleted.

You can find the full feature set and more photos of the phone inside the service manual, which is embedded below. The whole thing is nearly 300 pages, and appears to consist mostly of charts and diagrams explaining the features, troubleshooting solutions, other pertinent service details.

This draft of the manual is not the final version and could change between now and when the phone ships, but it does seem complete enough to draw some conclusions about what’s coming in the Nexus line.
