There’s no place like home and when you’re Google, this age old expression has an even deeper sentiment. The search giant’s plans to build a new 950, 000 square foot London HQ have been placed on hold. The £650 million build at King’s Cross won’t happen until at least 2017, according to the project’s contractor BAM Construct.
Originally approved in September, Google reportedly asked its architects Allford Hall Monaghan Morris to go back to the drawing board to spice things up. The company is said to have no specific build time nailed down for this location and that it wants to be “ambitious as possible” with this new structure. Google could possibly be looking to find inspiration from its 1.1 million square foot home in the company’s native California.
