notifications-new-Android-TwitterTwitter announced on its blog today that an update to its Android app is rolling out with a number of new features including full previews and other enhancements to photos, a new Tweet composer, and richer notifications.

Most of the new features listed below are rolling out to both the Android and iOS apps, but Twitter is also including more info about interactions to the Notification Drawer on Android:

One of the most requested features we’ve heard about from Android users is richer notifications. With this update, you will now see more details about your interactions on Twitter right in the Notifications Drawer. Just swipe the notification to expand and see more details.

What’s in this version:

4.1.0

The new Tweet composer makes it easier to share with quick access to your camera roll and clear previews of how your Tweets will appear. Also:

• Richer notifications now include details like avatars and indicate how people are interacting with you (reply, retweet, etc.) for devices running Android 4.0 and higher,

• Enjoy wider and taller timelines in all parts of the app including profiles, search, and Discover.

• Receive a notification when a friend has joined Twitter.
