The LG G2 is arguably one of the most underrated but best performing flagship smartphones on the market. Unfortunately, a recent report indicates sales of the device are performing below the expectations of its Korean manufacturer. However, that doesn’t seem to be stopping the company from pursuing a “mini” version of the device with a 4.7″ display.
According to Greek gadget site Techblog, the G2 mini is currently being developed. The site reports the “mini” version of the device will sport a 4.7″ display but maintain a lot of the same specs that make its larger counterpart a winner including the Snapdragon 800 processor. Still, at 4.7″, it’s hard to classify this rumored device as a “mini” compared to the likes of Galaxy S 4 and HTC One mini models. The good news is that those devices compromised specs for size, and it looks as though a potential G2 mini could have a big leg up on both those devices.
The site reports that an announcement could come as soon as the Consumer Electronics Show in January, but isn’t ruling out a Mobile World Congress launch in March.
