Ecobee has today launched its first video doorbell, the “Smart Doorbell Camera,” which has a neat feature that lets you view the camera feed live on your thermostat.
Ecobee this week revealed a new batch of smart thermostats which, as usual, include support for Google Assistant among other things. Also new in this year’s Ecobee thermostat lineup is the addition of a built-in air quality monitor and a new radar sensor, just like Google’s thermostat.
While there are quite a few smart thermostat options on the market today, two of the best have long been regarded as Google’s Nest Thermostat and Ecobee. Today, Ecobee has announced that it is being acquired by Generac.
If you’ve already bought into the Google Home ecosystem, it’s easy to think that Google’s own Nest thermostats are the only way to go. However, Ecobee’s line of smart thermostats offer full integration with the Google Assistant, but how do they stack up against Nest?
After being teased last summer, ecobee has officially announced pricing and availability for its new Switch+ smart home accessory. Switch+ is available for pre-order starting today and ships on March 26 for $99 in the US and $119 in Canada. Like other smart light switches, Switch+ includes Alexa integration as well as Google Assistant support for controlling lights — but Switch+ takes integration with Amazon’s voice assistant a step further by building it in to the light switch.
Ecobee, maker of smart thermostats that notably go head-to-head with offerings from one particular Google sibling company (Nest, for those unaware), has today announced support for its products in Google Home. The voice activated speaker joins other competing platforms that have already had support for ecobee products, like Apple’s HomeKit and Amazon Alexa.
