Report: Google to launch Google Play Music All Access family plan for $15/month

Unlimited All Access Music-Google Play-sale-01

According to a new report out this morning from Android Police, Google is planning to launch a new Google Play Music All Access family plan at tomorrow’s event. This is a move to take on competitors like Spotify and Apple, and will allow users to use the service across 6 accounts for just about $15 per month…

And that’s pretty much all we know about it that this point. For quick comparison, Spotify’s family plans range between $15 and $30, with the lower end of that being for just two accounts. Apple Music, on the other hand, offers exactly the same deal that Google is planning to launch tomorrow — $15 a month for 6 users.

Tomorrow’s event is set to be packed with new Chromecasts, the new Nexus 5X and 6P, as well as other announcements. If you need to catch up, be sure to head over and read our full roundup, where we’ve outlined all the new products and features coming to Google’s product lineups.

T-Mobile announces new Family Plan: $120 for four 10GB lines

JohnLegere_2015-Jul-14

T-Mobile’s Uncarrier Amped moves are still going strong. Just days after announcing its cross-border ‘Mobile Without Borders’ plan, the magenta carrier has unveiled a brand new family plan.

With the new plan, two customers can get 10GB per line for $100 per month. Each additional line is then $20 per person, each with 10GB data allowance. As a special offer, T-Mobile is also giving customers a fourth line for free. Between now and Labor day, customers will be able to sign up to four lines with 10GB data on each, for $120 per month.

AT&T announces new family plan tier with unlimited talk/text, 10GB of data

Screen Shot 2014-02-01 at 2.08.50 PMAT&T has just announced a new tier for its family plan customers that ups the amount of data offered. The carrier is now offering a family plan that includes unlimited talk and text, as well as 10GB of data. The 10GB of data is available to anyone that is apart of the family plan.

Here’s an example: Today, Verizon charges $260 monthly for a comparable plan that’s now $160 from AT&T. A family with four smartphones with unlimited talk and text, and a shared 10GB bucket of data, could switch to AT&T from Verizon and save $100 a month.  Current AT&T customers can save big with these new plans, too, when they choose a 10GB or larger bucket of data. For example, a family or small business with four smartphones could move to this new plan and save between $40 and $100 per month, depending on their current plan.

This new plan starts at $130 a month for 2 lines and increases in $15 iterations for each additional line.

Back in December, AT&T launched new ‘Mobile Share Value Plans‘ that offered pretty steep discounts to customers to compete with T-Mobile’s Uncarrier offerings. AT&T also began offering $100 credits to new customers, as a preemptive jab at T-Mobile, as well.
